Located at just 6km from the Chennai Airport on the GST Road, Vettri
Theatres is one of the oldest release theatres around Chennai.
Inaugurated in 1973 by Honorable Chief Minister Dr.Karunanidhi, Screen
'Vettri' is the biggest of all in Chengalpet district with 930 seats
capacity. The 2nd screen(mini) 'Rakesh' was launched in 1990 with 433 seats
in the auspicious presence of Captain Vijayakanth. Vettri Theatres is a
major draw to students, working professionals and residents in and around
Chromepet & Tambaram of all age groups throughout the week.
Both the screens equipped with 1.3k high resolution ray- QUBE digital
projectors with complete QSC amplifiers & JBLspeakers DTS surround system.
The auditoriums are fully air-conditioned with chilled water system.
Screen 'Vettri' has recently (2010) been renovated with high standards to
cater to the needs and expectations of the audience by upgrading to
ergonomic cushion seats, 3-way stage speakers, eye catching interiors, A/c,
etc...
